This line up is very competitive featuring a few "Side" Stories to go along with the excitement and anticipation of the next New York Pro Champion!
The highly anticipated Pro Debut in recent years of the 2007, NPC National Champion, Evan Centaponi! The return to the Pro stage by massive 280 plus pound, Markus Ruhl after a brief 2 year retirement from competition!
The "Giant Killer" 5'6- 215 lbs Silvio Samuel returns to the New York stage to try and redeem himself from 3 years ago where he placed out of the top 10, the following year in 2007, he moved up to grab the 5th place slot then went on to compete as an Olympian the last two years winning the Europa Pro, Houston Pro and the Pro Ironman in the process!
Tarek Elsetouhi now working with training and diet guru, Chris Aceto has a few surprises of his own to unveil in New York for his fellow competitors!
Dareem Charles and his 9 Pro victories in the last 8 years will be on display in New York as he seeks to take home another New York Title to add to his original victory here 4 years ago!
Hidetada Yamagishi continues to try and make a name for himself even after already qualifying for this years Mr. Olympia earlier this year at the Pro Ironman and Orlando Pro events. Hide is looking to step out of a few "shadows" here in New York in head to head competition with the best of what's left sans the Olympians!
Ben White, a promising Bodybuilder who has yet to make good on his "BOLD" predictions for his career, returns to New York to test the waters once more. He will be "Tested" no doubt! If he fails here again, it maybe all she wrote for this former USA Champion!
Sergey Shelestov from Russia, will have his hands full trying to peak a month after a disappointing showing at the Orlando Pro. One of the Biggest guys in this line up will finally have to "Put up or Shut up!" He has the tools but will have to be considerably "HARDER" from the rear if he wants to be competitive!
Eugene Mishin, another Russian transplant now living in New York is Big and Shapely! He will have to have added the necessary MASS to his pleasing Physique to match up with his height if he wants to finally get the Call Out Comparisons he so desires.
Dennis James, will he show up and compete in New York? If he does, there is no way to count him out of the running for this elusive title he has yet to lay claim to!
There are others who could potentially shake up the Apple Cart, this is New York City where anything is possible!
Dreams can come true in this show for so many bodybuilders, in the past however we have also seen dreams get shattered as well!
Who will be the next NEW YORK PRO CHAMPION ,$15,000 Dollars Richer for their efforts not to mention the proud exclusive owner of the $5,000 NY Pro Championship ring?
New York Pro 202lbs & Under
In this the 2nd year of existence, after I had successfully promoted the first of it's kind last year with promoter, Steve Weinberger the 202lbs & Under division. Steve is now promoting it on his own and it has just gotten more competitive if you can believe that!
Last years winner, Kevin English returns to defend his title against the 2008 Olympia Showdown Champion, David Henry whom he beat right here last year but lost to this past September. The Re-Match is all set however, there looms in the near distance some new faces to be reckoned with in the form of the Brazilian, Eduardo Correa who won last weeks Pittsburgh Pro! As well, Fakhri Mubarak brings a unique blend of Muscle and Shape to the stage to do battle. Veteran IFBB Pro's like Mark Dugdale and Jason Arntz wont allow a "Walk in the park" for the above mentioned as the two of them have both done battle with the best of the big boys!
The highly anticipated arrival of former NPC veteran, Jose Raymond will throw his hat in the mix to see how he will do against this class which will set the tone for the Olympia Showdown!
Finally, Vinny Galanti will see if he can overcome the Freshman Pro "Gitters" he experienced in Pittsburgh and bounce back to the kind of form that won him his Pro Card in the first place.
All these guys will battle tooth and nail but only the Top 3 will qualify to compete against the Worlds Best in Las Vegas, Nevada Olympia Weekend!
The remaining 202lbs Contests include: Tampa, Europa & Dexter Jackson Classic!
Already with one 202 lbs & Under Contest in the history books, Correa, Dugdale and Arntz are set for the Big Show, who will be next to add their name to this list?
